Maui's "Hookipa Beach" has been dubbed the
"The wind surfing capital of the world".
This beach is a great spot for good wind surfers
to take off, particularly in the summer months.
The top wind surfers generally do their jumping
and 360 loops in the afternoons when the
trade winds pick up. Some of the world's greatest
wind surfing contests occur here. Hookipa means
welcome or friendly in the Hawaiian language. |
